We as Christians can often make the mistake of relying too heavily on the New Testament without remembering all the history that got us where we are today. While the New Testament is of course critical as it contains the story of Jesus and the plan for salvation, it’s also equally important to remember why we need salvation. If we don’t understand our sinful nature and how we got thrown into sin in the first place, we can miss the entire point of the scriptures. That’s why we’ve collected all of our Christian films focusing on the Old Testament time period to bring to you a collection of movies that retell our history and where we came from. The Old Testament is a massive collection of 39 books, all of which tell the story of humanity and where this all came from. These Old Testament movies features some incredible events, including the creation of the world, Noah and the flood, Abraham and the Israelites, and so much more. It makes up the majority of the Bible and is revered by many for it poetry, prose, and truth about God and the world as a whole.

Many people in our world are looking for answers. People want to know where we all came from and if there is a God. There is so much to our world, and so many different “truths” being taught by people all over the world. It’s to the point now where you can pretty much choose to believe whatever you want and there is a group of like-minded people. If you are really looking for the honest truth of where the world came from, if there’s a higher calling and what the purpose of our world is, the only place to find the answer is here in the Old Testament and the Bible. While many other people claim to know the truth, the only truth you can really get comes straight from the Bible. God’s word has all the answers we need as it explains where everyone came from, the fall of Man, and where our world is going.

This is why we’ve put together a collection of Christian movies on our site that focus on the Old Testament and this incredible section of the Bible that is often easily overlooked. The Old Testament begins with Genesis, the very first book of the Bible. In the very beginning, it starts with just that – the beginning. This is where God chooses to bring more into the world than just himself and so He creates a world. He sets up everything we know: the sun, the moon, the stars, and everything we know in our world. And then, he breathed life into it and into us and He saw that it was good. When the world began, everything was perfect. There was no sin, as we didn’t know what sin was. We didn’t know what evil was then because we lived in a perfect world.

However, man sinned in the original Adam and Eve. They chose to eat of the fruit of a tree of good and evil. Because of this choice, they were able to understand both good and evil, and that’s how sin entered the world. This is something that is very easy to overlook when we talk about Jesus and everything in the New Testament. But it’s important to have a very solid base for everything we think or do. The Old Testament continues, documenting how the world became incredibly evil and corrupt, and this motivated God to destroy the world in its entirety, with the small exception of Noah and his family, a righteous group of 8 people. He saved them by making Noah build an ark that would carry them through the rain. Then, God sent a worldwide flood which would wipe out the rest of the world, leaving just Noah and his family left on the entire earth. And so, humanity would rebuild and the world would start all over again, unfortunately choosing to practice evil once more. Eventually, God would raise up a chosen people under the chosen man Abraham. The nation of Israel would grow into a numerous group of people uncountable and as numerous as the stars in the sky, just as God had promised. And so the story of the Old Testament would continue, with the judges of Israel, King Saul and then King David, and then on into the minor prophets and Major prophets. And so the book ends with Malachi, who would end the book and leave behind 400 years of silence before Jesus would come down to earth, bringing salvation with him.

The incredible thing about the Old Testament is it tells hundreds of stories in its pages, all of which document God’s providence in His peoples’ lives. This book shows what an incredible hand God has in the lives of His people and how He’s always watching over us. His hand of guidance and deliverance can be easily seen in everything that happens in the Old Testament, and these Christian movies do a fantastic job of examining the lives of God’s people and showing how He had a hand in their every move. As you watch through these films, we hope you can be encouraged by the stories and we hope it will encourage you to study the Old Testament for yourself and discover the incredible truths in its pages.
